1.What are the characteristics of the following members of Parvana’s family?
(Characteristics of a person would be things like their personality, their age, their occupation and their interests).

Parvana’s Mother: Use to be a writer. she always cleans the house.

Parvana’s Father: went to university at england, he was a history teacher, he read and write letters. He loves to read books

Nooria: has long hair, she was close to her brother, she is the oldest in the family. she makes fun of parvana. she is cleaning with her mom and cooking and she helps to take care of the family.

Ali: Ali is 2 years old. He is the only son. he is the youngest.

Maryam: Maryam is 5 years old and she likes to draw. She really likes parvana.

2. Why did Parvana’s father specifically ask her to take care of the rest of the family? Use evidence from the text to support your answer.

Parvana's father asked her to take care of the rest of the family because as soon the soldiers took Parvana father away he wasn't gonna come back at all. They where gonna take him away somewhere so parvana and her family wont see him again, and so parvana father would get punished because he went to england to get education. In the text it says that, " when the soldiers dragged her father outside, she flung her arms around the waist. As the soldiers pried her loose, she heard her father say " take care of the others, my malali." then he was gone. Parvana watched helplessly as two soldiers dragged him down the steps, his beautiful shalwar kazmeez ripping on the rough cement. Then they turned a corner, and she could see them no more." So maybe that's why parvana father said to her to take care of the family.

3. How will Parvana’s family deal with the loss of her father? Explain your thinking.
I think that Parvana and her family will not that well without there father because to able to get food parvana dad has to go get food. In the text is says that " The Taliban had ordered all the girls and women inside their homes. So that mens that only men can get the food. Also it says in the text that, " Plus it was dangerous for women to go outside without a man."
